Cheesequake Creek, Middlesex County, NJ (Easy-Interm.)
Tuesday Club tour, $50 (or $35 w/own boat) Tue Aug 5

Cheesequake Creek got its unusual name from the Leni-Lenape Indians who fished and hunted in the area long ago. This estuary, which feeds the Raritan Bay, is a rich, tidal eco-system as evidenced by the many osprey nesting sites that can be seen during our paddle.

Chesapeake Bay, Tilghman Island, MD (Intermediate)
B&B tour: reservations Sept 26 and 27; kayak days Sept 27 and 28.
$750 single, $545 double occupancy, (includes 2-nights lodging

In the evenings we'll enjoy the Eastern Shore's freshest seafood as Tilghman Island watermen harvest the Bay's bounty daily.

Paulinskill River, Warren County, NJ (Easy-Interm.)
Tuesday Club tour, $50 (or $35 w/own boat) May 20

The Paulinskill River is a wonderful New Jersey trout stream and kayaking venue. Beginning just north of Newton, it tumbles and wanders for nearly 30 miles before flowing into the Delaware River. We'll kayak a section approximately 10 miles long starting in Blairstown and heading towards Columbia, NJ.

Local lore says that the kill got its name from Pauline, the daughter of a Hessian soldier. The soldier was captured and housed near Stillwater, New Jersey during the American Revolutionary War and after his release he lived in the area until his death. One could assume that "Paulins Kill" is derived from "Pauline's Kill."
